This mountain is one my husband saw on a trip to the extreme corner of northwestern BC, SE of the Alaska border and south of the Yukon Territory. I was inspired to paint it by the great avalanche chutes and rock faces that loom over the valley near New Hazelton and the village of Hagwilget. The other name for the peak is sti gyo den (painted goat) in Tsimshian. I was also told it means 'stands alone'.
