Almost There

The excitement of seeing a glimpse of water when in the forest, is something I have felt ever since I first went hiking and skiing with my parents as a toddler. I think it goes way back to when most of us lived outside and understood that water meant life, and an opening up of the terrain to be able to see farther. Often sunlight was also involved as one approached the shore of a body of water. Returning to first lake at Joffre after a long day's hike, this image tantalizes the viewer with all of the above and knowing that arriving back at the trailhead means removing tired feet from hot shoes, and having a welcome rest. Goal accomplished.
