The land in southern Ontario that was historically not good for development or road building was often left alone. This river winds through one of the last large natural areas in Greater Toronto. The subtle winter neutral palette of the snow, the partially frozen waters of the river, and the looming darks in the cold forest make for a moody image. The title refers to the sluggish flow of partially frozen water as well as the loose brushwork. Rouge National Urban Park, Greater Toronto. Photo Credit: Ashley Hunter
