Fitzsimmons From Whistler

This large image is of the Fitzsimmons Range from Whistler Mountain. Done as a commission in 2018, the colours reflect the clients' taste for cools, greys, and muted tones. The eye moves from the loose fair weather sky to the subtle greys of the Fitzsimmons Range, from the varied greens of the Fitzsimmons drainage to the clear blue reflection in the water, and the shapes of the distinctive alpine trees. My goal was to give the feel of standing at the tree line experiencing the exposure, the airiness and freedom of being at that altitude. I am at home in the mountains and love to share them. As the clients visited Whistler while the 2017 provincial wildfires were obscuring the landscape, they will now forever have the view they missed, in their home.
